A flawless six under par 66 over the New Course at San Roque Club gave Spain’s Pablo Larrazabal the second round lead in The European Tour Qualifying School – Final Stage.

Larrazabal birdied the opening hole and never looked back as he established a one stroke lead over Portugal’s Tiago Cruz and South African Thomas Aiken. Austrian Roland Steiner continued his good progress to lie at five under par after a round of 70 on the Old Course while Peter Senior, at 48 the oldest player in the field with four European Tour titles under his belt, is shot further back in the group on four under par after shooting an outstanding 67 in testing conditions on the Costa del Sol.

Golfer suing after not receiving car for hole-in-one
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — A man who hit a hole-in-one during a charity golf match is suing a car dealership and the event's organizers because they won't give him a car he says he won with the ace.

Joseph McDonald, 45, of Bridgewater, was elated in June when his tee shot on the par-3, 152-yard seventh hole at Raritan Valley Country Club sailed right into the cup without even hitting the green. Signs on the hole said that a hole-in-one would win a golfer a 2005 Ford 500, McDonald said.

Daniel Zurla wants to free would-be-walkers from being forced to use golf carts on municipal courses in the Port Orange-Daytona Beach area of the US - but has failed to get the support of US Courts.

Now he plans to take his case to the people and is to launch his new book, "The Case of a Civil Right: the freedom to walk a public course," at a meeting he has called at a Church in Daytona Beach this week.

According to a report published in the Daytona Beach News Journal on Wednesday, Zurla, a retired businessman, believes that municipal golf courses are public lands held in the public trust and argues that cities cannot deny it's citizens the right to walk on them any more than they can prevent them walking on a sidewalk.

Transsexual Golfer Qualifies for Tour
transTARANTO, Italy - Mianne Bagger, a 37-year-old Dane, became the first transsexual golfer to qualify for the Ladies European Tour.

Bagger shot a 5-over-par 77 Wednesday to tie for ninth place after four rounds in qualifying school at the Riva dei Tessali golf club.

"It's been a long week and tough for many reasons, but I'm naturally delighted to be able to finally fulfill my childhood ambition," Bagger said. "I sold up everything that I owned in Australia to fund this year and I have nothing but friends and family, but now I feel rich."
